Ā UCT Class Information:Ā
In the Spring of each year, UCT and its teachers will promote classes for the new school year and also ask for class suggestions from inquiring homeschool families.
A designated teacher prepares and teaches a specific class subject for the academic year. A minimum number of 5 students is required for a class to make unless otherwise determined by the teacher. It is important for parents to communicate their studentās class needs with UCT so as to help a class be confirmed in the UCT schedule.Ā
Classes will start for the new academic year in August and consist of 34 weeks total. Each class that is offered is 1 and 1/2 hours long. Depending on their educational needs, a student may choose which classes to participate in. As a tutorial, UCT is independent of all other academic programs but does strive to be mindful of local programs/schools in regard to calendar dates.Ā Ā
With each tutorial class, students will be given weekly assignments to complete. The teacher will give a grade based on the studentās attitude and class participation in addition to their grades for homework, quizzes/tests, labs, projects, etc.Ā
For high school students, we encourage parents to count each high school class UCT offers as a high school credit or one-half credit as designated.Ā
As assigned by the teacher, students are required in advance to have all books and materials for their class/es.
Time/Location:Ā

Course Description: This course will have students exploring history through art. Students will experience a range of media, their art literacy will be heightened, and I hope they leave with a greater appreciation for this beautiful form of expression God has given us. We will explore the different functions of art with 2D and 3D projects. Students will research and present on artists of the past while finding or improving their own artistic talents and ways of expression. UCT recommends for parents to assign one high school elective credit to the student upon successful completion of this class and its course requirements.
